On June 11, 2021, Hitachi Transport System, Ltd. was registered as a business operator that has made a self-declaration of conformity under the Consumer Affairs Agency’s Whistleblowing Compliance Management System Certification (Self-declaration of Conformity Registration System)(hereinafter:WCMS.)
The WCMS is a system that was introduced by the Consumer Affairs Agency in June 2019 to promote the appropriate establishment and operation of whistleblowing systems that are important elements of a company’s internal control and corporate governance. If a business operator files an application containing an evaluation of its own whistleblowing system and it conforms to the certification standard(*1) in the review by the registration organization designated by the Consumer Affairs Agency, it is registered as a business operator that has made a self-declaration of conformity and permitted to use the prescribed WCMS.
The HTS Group introduced the whistleblowing system in 2004 as a mechanism to enable employees and other relevant personnel to make reports with peace of mind in an effort to achieve the early discovery and correction of any legal violations or inappropriate behavior. The system can be used by all relevant personnel working in the Group in Japan and overseas such as the officers, employees, and partner employees of the Company and Group companies and employees of the Group’s business partners.
The HTS Group will continue to improve the establishment and operation of the whistleblowing system, and further strengthen compliance systems to respond to the trust it has been given by customers and society.
